First church service of 2011

Today i felt the Lord's presence in church so strongly, i am amazed at HIS grace.

The LORD is full of grace, a brother came up to me to hand me a prayer request slip as if sensing my need. My Father God knows my shyness to ask for a prayer request slip, He sent a discerning brother to hand me one without my asking. Do not belittle the simple things one can do for God. Just by the handling out of little prayer slip, this brother has caused the LORD's glory to be revealed. Isn't He loving, lovely....

The sermon today is God's principle in provision:
#1 - We must depend on Him
Not on man or on things. Abraham when told to sacrifice his son, he realized that he cannot turn to the left nor right to save his son except to God, to provide the SACRIFICE. I do not know what thoughts transpired in Abraham's mind, but he obeyed God to "sacrifice" his son and prophesied that GOD would provide the SACRIFICE.

#2 - Put God first
Seek first HIS kingdom... Did not God already encouraged us that HE feeds birds without them storing in barns and cloths the fields in such splendour as not even Solomon's can compare? He will provide in a way that brings Shalom - whatever the pagans run after He can give better, because what He gives if its according to His will He will cause to prosper in spirit soul body. So put Him first and not rob yourself.

#3 - Take care of others' needs and God would take care of my needs
Do not think first of yourself, think first of others, this is HIS order of things. Its a sacrificial attitude, God first, others first, then.... In most Asian societies, we do have this value system but a contracted version. We are to consider the children first, parents first, younger siblings first, etc. Now Godly principle dictates to extend this to all around us, others first.

Thank God for equiping us with a great sermon to start the new year.
God is good!!
